Has Your Snowmobile Club Signed Up To Support RTP Moving Forward?

As you’ll recall, the Recreational Trails Program, is part of the Federal Highway Administration and is funded by you. Yes…you fund it, every time you fill your sled with gas, with the Federal Gas Taxes. RTP is vitally important to the snowmobile community.
You have responded in the past when we needed you to contact your Congressman or U.S. Senator. When RTP nearly faced elimination, you made phone calls and the program survived! We have always enjoyed support – but of course we should because it’s our money! And we’ve seen new supporters join with us in the halls of Washington, DC.
Recently there has been an effort by the Coalition for Recreational Trails (CRT) of which we are members and supporters, to not only continuing advocating, but also to grow the program. CRT has created a council of organizations that support the continuation and expansion of the Recreational Trails Program in upcoming authorizations of the national surface transportation program. By joining the Council, the Advisors agree to sign on to letters supporting RTP to Members of Congress, the Administration or to relevant State Governors and/or legislators. In addition, Advisors are asked to recruit other RTP supporters and to help in a variety of ways.
We are looking to update our list of supporters. And we’re hoping to add to that list of organizations and clubs. If your club has not yet signed on to our efforts, please consider doing so. Download the form here and take it to your next cub meeting!
Your ongoing support and involvement is crucial. It reminds those folks we sent to Washington, DC that programs like the RTP are very beneficial to our community and to us, as voters. Click here to download the form.
