Alexus Butler Named Youth Snowmobile of the Year in the U.S.

Alexus Butler was recognized for her compassion and commitment to organized snowmobiling by being named American Council of Snowmobile Associations Youth Snowmobiler of the Year award. The award is presented annually to an outstanding youth snowmobiler that has demonstrated their leadership skills at a young age in their involvement with their local and statewide snowmobile clubs and organizations.

Alexus Butler, from Watertown, Wisconsin has been involved in snowmobiling since the age of 3. She started riding on a Kitty Kat. Her trail work began at the same age, helping her grandfather mark trails.

She has been involved in many club activities, including meetings, fundraisers, landowner dinners and county picnics. She also became involved in Youth Safety at the age of 12, assisting in teaching snowmobile safety classes at the local club. Alexus has also testified on behalf of snowmobiling in the Wisconsin legislature.

Alexus has been very involved with the Kids and Adults on Snowmobiles (KAOS) where she has served as a Country Rep and State youth Advisor. She served as Co-Chairman of the Take a Friend Riding campaign for three counties and has traveled to other states and provinces in Canada to promote the KAOS program and getting youth involved.

“Based on the many dedicated volunteer hours demonstrates that she is truly passionate about the sport of snowmobiling” stated Dave Newman, President of the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs. “She is truly passionate about the sport of snowmobiling and all of those involved from the clubs to the landowners – and the future of snowmobiling….the youth.”
