The snowmobilers rode right over the debris of the avalanche in the foreground without thinking anything of it. Unknowingly, they ignored this obvious sign of snowpack instability. They went up the road only a short distance and started playing on a slope of a similar aspect, similar elevation, and consequently a similar snowpack. You can see debris in the background from the avalanche that they triggered.
