Case Study #7 A male operator failed to negotiate a left-hand trail curve, resulting in the snowmobile being vaulted 25-feet outward and 25-feet downward from the trail. The operator landed on the spinning track of the overturned snowmobile, causing his leg to become trapped between the track and the tunnel and fracturing his femur. The minimum speed of the snowmobile when it was launched off the curve was calculated to be over 30 mph.
