Case Study #3 A male operator struck a stub branch on a tree located alongside the trail with the right side of his helmet’s eye opening and was killed by head trauma. There were no witnesses present and no damage to his snowmobile. Investigation indicated the operator was tilted to the right (with the snowmobile’s left ski lifted off the trail) for his head to be able to have made contact with the tree.
